Viking Athletics offers an exceptional speed training service designed for long-term development athletes aiming to reach the highest levels, including Olympians. Our program is meticulously crafted to enhance speed, agility, and explosive power, providing athletes with the competitive edge they need to excel in their respective sports.

Curve treadmill training, also known as non-motorised or self-powered treadmill training, offers numerous benefits compared to traditional motorised treadmills.

Viking Athletics has successfully seen tangible improvements for AFL, AFLW, Nutri-grain Iron men/women/ NRL and track and field athletes in as short a time as 4 weeks.

Viking Athletics Football Speed Training is a comprehensive program designed to enhance the speed and agility of football players. Our training service combines proven techniques, expert coaching, and cutting-edge equipment to help athletes reach their full potential on the field.

Our program focuses on developing explosive speed, quickness, and agility, which are crucial for football players in order to outperform their opponents. Through a combination of sprint drills, plyometrics, ladder drills, and agility exercises, we target specific muscle groups and movement patterns to improve acceleration, deceleration, change of direction, and overall speed.

Strength and conditioning significantly enhance speed development. By improving muscle power, coordination, and agility, athletes can achieve higher velocities and quicker accelerations. Targeted training regimens enhance muscle fibre recruitment, boosting stride length and frequency. Additionally, increased core strength stabilises movements, reducing injury risk. Incorporating these practices optimises overall athleticism and maximises performance potential in sports that rely on speed, such as sprinting, football, and track events.

Viking Athletics utiliSes VALD performance products, including Force Decks and Nord Board, to conduct sports performance testing. These cutting-edge tools allow athletes to assess and optimise their physical capabilities, enabling them to enhance their athletic performance.

Generally, the curve treadmill is used for improving biomechanics at high speed, maintaining speed under fatigue or improving aerobic capacity. We don’t believe that it has a significant influence on improving acceleration.

Based on experience improvement in acceleration and top speed is noticeable after 6 consecutive weeks.

Viking Athletics only coaches the flat 100m, 200m and 400m events.

It is a preference that all members of the squad athletics program participate in the Viking Athletics strength and conditioning program so we can holistically be in control of the athlete’s training week.  Exceptions are made upon request.

There is no cost per athletics session, as it is expected that athletes attend all sessions so there is a monthly fee of $90.00 plus a monthly track usage fee of $30.00.
